Turning it as high would go, about 240 degrees, I placed the insulation 1 inch from iron and temp just went up 2 degrees. Too good to be true. This insulation is fantastic.
The following test were made with our 1/4 thick insulation, not new 2 insulation. Still not believing what I saw placed a sheet of the insulation directly on iron with my hand and was amazed to experience so little heat transfer that could press hard against without burning. Superior performance in operating temperatures up.
Next I used my wife's clothes iron. Characteristics low thermal conductivity at temperatures to f good drape ability - conforms irregular surfaces us.
